Job description
The Director ā Client Relationship CCB is responsible for originating new business, deepening client relationships, managing a portfolio of corporate and commercial clients, and delivering tailored financial solutions to meet business needs. Based in Bahrain, this role will play a key part in executing the bankās client strategy across various financial products, ensuring compliance and risk control, while leading team development and fostering collaboration across internal functions. The position requires strong leadership, technical knowledge of banking products, and a robust network within Bahrain and the wider region.

Key responsibilities
- Originate new business opportunities across all banking products with target clients.
- Articulate FABās value proposition to existing and potential clients.
- Collaborate with HO and international teams to generate business leads.
- Manage daily client interactions and enhance overall client experience.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities and grow client wallet share.
- Pitch, negotiate, and conclude financing deals.
- Raise liabilities and prepare term sheets, IMs, financial models, and mandate letters.
- Meet financial performance targets for self and team.
- Collaborate with product and risk teams to manage credit, market, and operational risks.
- Coach and develop team members and maintain credit quality within acceptable standards.
- Monitor early warning signals and resolve over-limit exposures.
- Prepare and maintain account plans and updated client documentation.
- Ensure timely submission of credit reviews and satisfactory audit outcomes.
- Participate in training, process improvement, and internal audits as required.
- Conduct industry and client analysis to identify lending and investment opportunities.
- Prepare and assess credit applications, reviews, and associated documentation.
- Enhance internal collaboration across departments for deal execution.
- Manage portfolio P&L and support budgeting and financial planning efforts.
- Oversee compliance with KYC/AML requirements and internal policies.
- Drive strategic contributions and act as a leadership role model across the team.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in finance or related discipline.
- Professional qualification preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in corporate and commercial banking.
- Experience in managing asset and liability-driven client portfolios.
- Strong knowledge of products under GCF, GTB, and Global Markets.
- In-depth understanding of Bahrainās banking industry and client landscape.
- Proven record in deal structuring, negotiation, and delivery.
- Strong credit and financial risk analysis skills.
- Excellent relationship management, communication, and presentation skills.
- Experience across full credit cycle from origination to execution.
- Leadership capabilities with ability to mentor and motivate teams.
- High adaptability, strong work ethics, and ability to perform under pressure.
