Job description
The Manager, Content Insights & Planning leads the development and management of the newsroomâs editorial calendar, aligning annual, quarterly, and monthly content plans with the Chief Communications Officerâs divisions and Qatar Foundationâs strategic priorities. The role collaborates with leadership to define annual content themes, editorial pillars, messaging priorities, and priority campaigns; anticipates trends and integrates forward-looking coverage opportunities tied to national, regional, and global events; and builds strong relationships with divisions and entity focal points to proactively integrate campaigns and initiatives. The position owns and continuously improves newsroom planning frameworks, tools, and systemsâsuch as editorial calendars, event schedules, and workflow trackersâto ensure visibility and accountability, and streamlines workflows by identifying redundancies and resolving bottlenecks for efficient resource allocation. It interprets content performance data and audience insights to guide editorial judgement and strengthen creative decisions; leads KPI tracking, operational dashboards, and performance reporting for leadership; and develops workload forecasting models with mitigation plans for scheduling conflicts or missed opportunities. The manager drafts and enforces SOPs, workflows, and editorial governance standards to ensure compliance with brand and policy frameworks; researches, adopts, and embeds global best practices and innovative planning technologies, including AI-assisted tools; mentors newsroom staff, supports task delegation, identifies training needs, and fosters a collaborative, high-performance culture. Tooling and platforms explicitly include MS Office applications and Sprinklr, with policy and brand framework compliance embedded across integrated communications operations.

- Support editors and creators by interpreting content performance data and audience engagement insights to inform editorial judgement
- Build and maintain relationships with divisions and entity focal points to proactively integrate campaigns and initiatives
- Own and continuously improve planning frameworks, tools, and systems (editorial calendars, event schedules, workflow trackers) for visibility and accountability
- Streamline workflows by identifying redundancies, resolving bottlenecks, and optimizing resource allocation
- Lead KPI tracking, operational dashboards, and performance reporting for leadership
- Develop workload forecasting models and implement mitigation plans for scheduling conflicts or missed opportunities
- Draft and enforce SOPs, workflows, and editorial governance standards ensuring brand and policy compliance

Experience & skills
- Bachelorâs degree in Communications, Journalism, Media, Public Relations, or related field (Masterâs degree preferred)
- 8â10 years of full-time experience in newsroom planning, editorial/content operations, or integrated communications within large, complex organizations
- Minimum 3+ years in a supervisory or leadership role with experience managing external agencies and cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, KPI-driven performance management, and workflow optimization
- Proven ability to translate strategic directives into detailed operational plans with measurable outcomes
- Strong analytical capability to interpret trends, identify risks, and propose data-backed solutions
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and Sprinklr; familiarity with innovative planning technologies and AI-assisted tools
- Excellent writing skills for drafting and editing written communications; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage
