Job description
The Senior Manager – Stations is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and operational readiness of railway stations within the Qiddiya City Transport program. The position plays a pivotal role in the development of world-class transport infrastructure supporting Qiddiya’s vision as a global entertainment and cultural hub. The incumbent will lead design initiatives for station operations across the Primary Urban Axis, ensuring functional integration between design, operations, and passenger experience. This role demands technical expertise in railway operations, sustainable design practices, and large-scale project delivery. The Senior Manager will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient, safe, and innovative station environments that align with regulatory standards and international best practices.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the design and operational interface of railway stations from concept through detailed design stages
- Develop and implement a comprehensive station operations strategy aligned with project goals and passenger service standards
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure efficient and timely delivery of station design and implementation
- Lead cross-functional collaboration across engineering, operations, design, technology, and marketing teams to deliver integrated station solutions
- Ensure compliance with safety, design, and operational standards in coordination with national regulatory requirements
- Conduct periodic design alignment and quality reviews to maintain consistency across multiple station projects
- Integrate sustainability, innovation, and smart technology solutions into station design to enhance efficiency and passenger experience
- Facilitate coordination with internal and external stakeholders to manage dependencies between station and network-level infrastructure
- Provide operational input into design documentation to ensure stations meet long-term performance and serviceability requirements
- Promote a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement across the station design and delivery team
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Railway Operations, Transportation Engineering, or a related discipline
- 10–15 years of experience in station management, rail operations, or transportation infrastructure projects
- Proven track record in leading large-scale transport design and operations initiatives within complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- Strong understanding of railway station functionality, passenger flow management, and operational design principles
- Experience integrating technology, sustainability, and digital systems in transport or mobility projects
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills with experience managing multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and project deliverables under tight timelines
- Deep knowledge of international railway design standards and best practices
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities, with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure
- Experience working within the Middle East or large urban development projects preferred
