Job description
The Senior Associate in Business Services Outsourcing at BDO UAE is responsible for providing end-to-end accounting, payroll, and financial reporting services for clients across multiple industries. This role ensures compliance with statutory requirements, client internal policies, and UAE regulations. The position involves preparing finalised books of accounts, general ledgers, trial balances, P&L statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and management reports. The candidate will also manage payroll setup, processing, and compliance, including end-of-service benefits, WPS regulations, and social security requirements. They will oversee bank account operations, process client payments, review expense claims, and produce cash flow forecasts. Strong client-facing skills are required to advise clients, maintain professional relationships, and deliver timely, accurate financial information. The role requires working in a multi-disciplinary team environment, managing multiple engagements, and delivering under strict deadlines.

Key responsibilities
- Set up client accounting systems including chart of accounts, reporting formats, and templates
- Prepare and finalize books of accounts in accordance with statutory and client requirements
- Produce general ledgers, trial balances, P&L statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, budgets, and management reports
- Perform account reconciliations, cash book updates, credit card account management, and adjustment journal entries
- Prepare supporting schedules for staff indemnities, accrued/prepaid expenses, fixed assets, customer and supplier ageing, and bank reconciliations
- Manage client payroll setup, processing, and reporting, ensuring compliance with UAE laws and regulations
- Calculate end-of-service benefits and gratuities, monitor social security obligations, and adhere to WPS requirements
- Verify and process employee expense claims in accordance with client policies
- Manage client bank accounts for salary, supplier, and expense payments
- Prepare funding requests, cash flow forecasts, and coordinate with clients for timely payments
- Maintain allocated time schedules per client and ensure timely delivery of all deliverables
- Provide advice to clients on accounting, payroll, and statutory matters
Experience & skills
- Bachelorβs degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
- Professional certification required (CA/ACCA/CPA)
- 2β4 years of relevant UAE accounting and finance experience
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and collaborating with clients
- Understanding of UAE statutory and payroll regulations
- Ability to uphold confidentiality, integrity, and professional standards
