Job description
The Senior Appian Developer will lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable, enterprise-grade applications using the Appian low-code automation platform. This role requires expertise in Appian BPM, process modeling, and integrations, including Appian RPA and AI solutions. Responsibilities include leading Appian solution architecture, collaborating with stakeholders and business analysts to define technical requirements, and implementing development best practices for performance and security. The developer will utilize components like SAIL, CDT, Records, Reports, and Process Models and will demonstrate proficiency in relational databases such as MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and Oracle. The role is embedded within Cognizant's award-winning technology organization, contributing to digital transformation projects across industries.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable applications using the Appian BPM platform
- Lead Appian solution architecture including process models, rules, interfaces, and integrations

Experience & skills
- 6+ years of Appian development experience including at least 2 years in a senior or lead role
- Strong knowledge of Appian components: SAIL, CDT, Records, Reports, and Process Models
- Experience with Appian RPA, AI integrations, and BPMN modeling
- Proficiency with relational databases such as MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and Oracle
- Experience with J2EE is a plus
