Job description
GEMS Metropole School ā Al Waha is seeking an Assistant Manager School Facilities to support the operations of school buildings, equipment, staff accommodation, transportation, and vendor management. The role involves implementing maintenance schedules, responding to repair requests, ensuring compliance with HSE standards, and supporting administrative functions such as procurement automation and asset management. The candidate should be capable of managing emergencies and coordinating closely with school and vendor teams to maintain a safe and efficient school environment.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Develop a system for cleaning, repair, and maintenance of school facilities during term and school holidays
- Coordinate all building maintenance to ensure safety systems are maintained according to preventive schedules and regulations
- Assess condition of electrical, AC, plumbing, and essential equipment, ensuring adherence to service schedules
- Consolidate annual maintenance contracts and oversee supplier performance
- Coordinate and supervise work schedules for ancillary staff and subcontractors
- Supervise support staff accommodation to ensure legal, HSE, and policy compliance
- Be on call for staff and campus emergencies
- Receive and prioritize repair and maintenance requests from staff for buildings and facilities
- Coordinate transportation for students and employees ensuring safety and effectiveness
- Supervise transport teams to deliver high-quality service
- Advise on disposal of unused assets in line with policy and support procurement automation implementation
- Support school compliance with government health, safety, and hygiene guidelines
- Implement emergency programs, maintain safety equipment, and conduct inspections and drills
- Ensure compliance with all GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct
- Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required
- Perform additional duties as requested by management
