Job description
Wood is recruiting for a Senior Procurement Engineer to join their ADNOC Gas PMC project team in Abu Dhabi. The role entails leading procurement activities throughout FEED and detailed design phases, ensuring procurement aligns with project schedules, budgets, and technical requirements. The successful candidate will collaborate across departments, manage supplier relationships, oversee procurement compliance, and contribute to cost-saving initiatives. Full-time office-based in Abu Dhabi, the position offers exposure to high-profile energy projects and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with project objectives, cost targets, and delivery schedules.
- Identify, assess, and qualify suppliers through market research, technical evaluations, and commercial analysis.
- Lead negotiations for pricing, terms, and conditions; prepare and manage purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
- Review engineering specifications and drawings to ensure procurement aligns with technical standards and client expectations.
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities including RFQs, bid evaluations, and order tracking.
- Conduct regular audits and performance reviews to ensure supplier compliance with contractual obligations and quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, planning, finance, and legal teams to ensure procurement decisions support project execution.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and generate reports on procurement status, cost trends, and supplier KPIs.
- Identify potential risks in procurement activities and implement mitigation strategies.
- Guide junior procurement staff, share best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement within the procurement function.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor of Engineering in related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar procurement role.
- Proven experience as a Procurement Engineer.
- Mandatory ADNOC projects experience.
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and procurement compliance.
- Experience in vendor evaluation, negotiation, and performance monitoring.
- Strong knowledge of project scheduling and budget alignment.
- Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, finance, and planning.
