Job description
From the lounge on the ground to the seat fabric in the cabin, colour, material and finish shape how guests experience Etihad, and this Abu Dhabi design manager sets that direction. Brand Strategy turns into tangible CMF choices through close work with Brand, Cabin Interiors, Product & Hospitality and Cabin Crew & Service teams. Onboard soft products and amenities are designed directly, while new aircraft seat, cabin and architectural projects get CMF support. Concepts start as quick 2D sketches and progress to full 3D renderings, presented as compelling visual stories. Ideas must hold up in production, so material and product development is led with external suppliers and manufacturers. CMF guidelines for ground, aircraft, product and service govern how the look and feel is applied across touchpoints. An onsite material library holds every in-production sample and specification, supported by a digital and physical database of industry materials and regular supplier visits. Material properties for soft goods, seats, cabins and buildings need to be understood in technical depth. Seven years in CMF design, ideally in aviation, automotive or hospitality, is required, along with a Design degree in Industrial, Interior, Transportation, Textile or Graphic disciplines and aviation material development knowledge.
