Job description
The Manager β Events Security is responsible for leading the strategic planning and operational execution of complex, high-profile events across the UAE. Based at the headquarters in Dubai Airport Freezone (DAFZA), this role oversees large-scale security operations involving teams ranging from 50 to 700+ personnel. The position ensures safe, compliant, and seamless delivery of diverse event categories including sporting events, government and VIP programs, festivals, concerts, corporate events, and critical infrastructure operations. The role combines advanced risk assessment, crowd management, contingency planning, and stakeholder engagement to maintain service excellence and protect organizational reputation. The Manager serves as a primary liaison for senior stakeholders and government agencies while driving operational innovation and continuous improvement in event security delivery.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end planning and execution of large-scale and high-risk events
- Manage multi-tier security teams including supervisors, contractors, operational managers, and frontline personnel
- Develop and implement advanced risk assessments, threat modelling, and contingency plans
- Design and oversee crowd management strategies including flow modelling and ingress/egress planning
- Coordinate traffic management plans to ensure safe and efficient movement of vehicles and attendees
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards, emergency response procedures, and incident command systems
- Deliver events within approved budgets while optimizing staffing and logistics costs
- Act as the primary contact for government entities, venue owners, and executive-level clients
- Lead crisis response and conflict resolution during live operations
- Apply relevant ISO standards including ISO 22301, ISO 31000, and ISO 45001
- Conduct security audits, scenario planning, and analysis of incident case studies
- Introduce innovative tools, technologies, and methodologies to improve event safety and efficiency
- Support revenue growth by maintaining high-quality delivery and fostering repeat business relationships
- Prepare operational reports and performance analyses using enterprise systems and reporting tools
Experience & skills
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the event industry (both international and local exposure preferred)
- Bachelorβs degree or higher in Event Management, Security Management, Risk Management, Project Management, or related field
- Level 5 Crowd Safety Management certification (required)
- Professional security certifications such as SIRA, PSCOD, SIA (current or previously held) highly beneficial
- CPP (Certified Protection Professional) or PSP (Physical Security Professional) preferred
- Membership with ASIS International preferred
- Strong understanding of the UK 'Green Guide' (Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds)
- NEBOSH or IOSH certification preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (advanced Excel required)
- Experience with planning and operational systems such as Oracle, Salesforce, One Plan, event mapping tools, and deployment planners
- Ability to conduct threat modelling, scenario planning, and security audits
- Certifications such as Level 2 Stage Pit Barrier Operations, Level 2 Conflict Management, Certified X-ray Machine Operator advantageous
- Valid First Aid or Advanced First Aid certification
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate under pressure and manage large-scale security operations effectively
