AtkinsRéalis, a world-class engineering services and nuclear company formed from organizations dating back to 1911, is seeking a Senior Asset & Maintenance Manager in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to support rail and metro operations. The company delivers sustainable solutions that connect people, data, and technology to transform infrastructure and energy systems, offering end-to-end services across asset lifecycle phases including consulting, advisory and environmental services, intelligent networks and cybersecurity, design and engineering, procurement, project and construction management, operations and maintenance, decommissioning, and capital delivery. The Senior Asset & Maintenance Manager will bring a minimum of 15 years of senior technical and management experience including railway consulting experience and will manage a team of railway managers and experts overseeing Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Contractors responsible for Metro maintenance activities. The role requires ensuring inspections and audits of O&M Contractors are conducted to maintain the highest standards of safety and reliability across rail assets. Responsibilities include measuring O&M contractor performance, evaluating and correcting performance issues, overseeing subcontractors including Transit Systems Suppliers, reviewing contractor submissions including asset and maintenance plans, procedures, and instructions, and coordinating O&M Contractors with Design & Build contractors. The role also includes advising on asset management strategy, monitoring KPI regimes, preparing performance reports, supporting lifecycle optimization of rail assets, ensuring compliance with rail regulations and standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure operational excellence and asset reliability across the metro system.

Key responsibilities
- Manage and lead a team of railway managers and technical experts responsible for overseeing Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Contractors performing Metro maintenance activities while providing leadership, mentorship, technical direction, and performance oversight to ensure operational excellence across rail infrastructure assets.
- Ensure that all inspections and audits of O&M Contractors are conducted regularly and comprehensively to maintain Metro systems at the highest standards of safety, reliability, and operational performance while ensuring compliance with rail transportation regulations and industry safety standards.
- Measure, monitor, and evaluate O&M Contractor performance using established Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and performance management frameworks, implementing corrective actions and performance improvement strategies where required to maintain service levels.
- Oversee mobilization of O&M Contractors and subcontractors including Transit Systems Suppliers, ensuring onboarding processes align with project requirements, operational readiness, and safety standards across metro operations and maintenance activities.
- Review, evaluate, and approve O&M Contractor submissions including asset management plans, maintenance strategies, procedures, and operational instructions to ensure alignment with asset lifecycle management and operational objectives.
- Monitor, audit, and report on KPI regimes, prepare regular performance reports for senior management and stakeholders, and ensure deviations from performance targets are addressed promptly and effectively.
- Provide expert advice on asset management strategy and collaborate with Asset Management teams to develop long-term asset lifecycle plans aimed at optimizing performance, reliability, safety, and cost-efficiency of rail infrastructure.
- Coordinate activities between O&M Contractors, Design & Build contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operational integration, maintenance planning, and asset performance management across rail and metro systems.
Experience & skills
- Demonstrate a minimum of 15 years of senior technical and management experience in rail operations and maintenance, including railway consulting experience and leadership of large-scale infrastructure maintenance programs.
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Transportation Management, or a related field with a Master's degree preferred, supporting technical expertise in rail infrastructure and asset management.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of rail systems, metro maintenance operations, reliability engineering, and safety standards applicable to rail transportation environments.
- Show proven experience in contractor management, including oversight of Operations & Maintenance contractors, subcontractors, and Transit Systems Suppliers, while evaluating performance and implementing corrective actions.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of asset management principles, asset lifecycle planning, and maintenance strategy development within the rail and metro industry.
- Possess experience in KPI monitoring, performance reporting, audit management, and inspection processes for rail infrastructure operations and maintenance programs.
- Demonstrate familiarity with rail transportation regulations, industry standards, and compliance requirements governing metro and railway operations.
- Show ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, contractors, and senior leadership while supporting strategic asset management and operational performance objectives.
