Job description
The Financial Operations Lead will be responsible for day-to-day settlement operations and engagement with partner banks to ensure the smooth implementation of Foodics Pay. The role encompasses end-to-end operational ownership across merchant settlement performance, including timely receipt and review of merchant statements and transaction reports from aggregator banks, monitoring the settlement cycle, verifying successful daily payouts to merchants, and escalating technical issues that impact payouts. The position manages daily reconciliation of inflows and outflows across the transaction reconciliation life cycle, investigates unsettled transactions and submits claims to aggregator banks as needed, coordinates chargeback and claims requests, processes merchant subscription and collection requests, and resolves payout exceptions within agreed SLAs. Operating on-site in Riyadh, the Lead functions as the primary liaison between internal teams and banking partners, applying knowledge of payment operations, banking operations, SAMA regulations, and fintech payment business (online/offline), while leveraging Excel and Microsoft Office to support workflow automation and operational reporting, with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement of merchant settlement experience for Foodics Pay.

Key responsibilities
- Ensure timely receipt of daily merchant statements and transaction reports from aggregator banks and validate completeness and accuracy prior to processing.
- Monitor the settlement cycle and verify successful daily payouts to merchants, escalating discrepancies and delays per SLA requirements.
- Report technical issues impacting merchant payouts to the technical team and promptly notify internal stakeholders with clear impact and tracking details.
- Investigate unsettled transactions end-to-end and submit claims to aggregator banks, following through to resolution and documenting outcomes.
- Manage chargeback and claims requests in coordination with aggregator banks, ensuring evidence collection, submission, and status tracking.
- Process merchant subscription and collection requests in alignment with operational controls and banking partner requirements.
- Address and resolve daily payout exceptions by identifying root causes, coordinating cross-functionally, and implementing corrective actions.
- Act as the primary liaison between internal teams and banking partners to monitor and improve merchant settlement performance and SLA adherence.
- Maintain accurate operational logs, reconciliation records, and exception trackers using Excel and Microsoft Office to support audits and reporting.
- Identify opportunities for workflow automation and process improvements to enhance settlement accuracy, speed, and reliability.
Experience & skills
- Demonstrate a minimum of 4 years of experience in Payment Operations within the banking payments domain.
- Exhibit good knowledge of banking operations and the transaction/reconciliation life cycle across inflows and outflows.
- Apply good knowledge of SAMA regulations for offline and online fintech payment business to daily settlement operations.
- Use advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills to manage reconciliations, exception tracking, and operational reporting.
- Communicate fluently in English and Arabic to support internal stakeholders and external banking partners.
- Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with a focus on automation and workflow improvements to strengthen settlement operations.
- Show flexibility to adapt to evolving processes and systems while maintaining high levels of accuracy and timeliness.
- Note that this role is not open to fresh graduates and requires at least 4 years of relevant banking payment experience.
