Job description
The Senior Manager - IT Platform Development - Operations will lead cross-functional engineering teams in Dubai to design, develop, and support enterprise IT application platforms that enable scalable, secure, and reusable technology capabilities across the organization, with a focus on aviation-related domains such as Passenger Service System (PSS), ERP, Revenue Accounting, and Integrated Operations. The role is responsible for establishing a platform-centric delivery model covering requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and support, ensuring platforms are future-ready and aligned with enterprise architecture. Key responsibilities include defining long-term digital platform strategy and roadmaps, modernizing PSS, Customer 360, ERP, and Operations Hub, and embedding modern engineering practices such as CI/CD, test automation, observability, and DevSecOps. The manager will oversee reusable components, patterns, and service contracts, establish platform reliability practices, and ensure compliance with data protection and security standards. The role also supports cloud migration, legacy integration, and adoption of microservices/event-driven architectures. A critical part of the role is mentoring and growing engineering talent to foster a culture of ownership and continuous learning. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering (MBA preferred), 10–12 years of IT management and software delivery experience, preferably in airlines or multinational companies, and certifications in SAFe Agile and PMP. Strong leadership, decision-making, business acumen, and resilience are required competencies.

Key responsibilities
- Establish a platform-centric delivery model for enterprise IT platforms across their full lifecycle
- Define long-term strategy and product roadmap for PSS, Customer 360, ERP, and Integrated Operations platforms
- Collaborate with product teams and business stakeholders to translate needs into backend services, APIs, and integrations
- Lead cross-functional engineering teams in building, enhancing, and maintaining enterprise platforms
- Embed CI/CD, test automation, observability, and DevSecOps practices into platform development and operations
- Develop reusable components, patterns, and service contracts to improve delivery efficiency
- Establish platform reliability practices including incident triage, root cause analysis, and resolution coordination
- Ensure compliance with enterprise policies, data protection regulations, and secure coding standards
- Support modernization initiatives such as cloud migration, legacy integration, and microservices adoption
- Mentor and develop engineering talent to foster continuous learning and excellence
- Ensure platform strategy and operations align with enterprise architecture and business needs
- Comply with Information Security Requirements (ISR) and report any weaknesses or incidents
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and/or Engineering (MBA preferred)
- 10–12 years of experience in IT management, product/project delivery, and transformation programs
- Experience leading large IT teams for software delivery and development, preferably in airline or multinational corporations
- Knowledge of airline industry systems and emerging technologies
- SAFe Agile development certification
- PMP certification
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Proven ability to deliver business results and develop people
