Job description
The Assistant Manager - Facilities & Catering Services is responsible for overseeing the condition, cleanliness, functionality, and overall management of Operations Resource Pool employee facilities including mess halls, restrooms, prayer rooms, and shift change areas. The role includes planning and supervising preventive and corrective maintenance, leading new facility development, repair, and renovation projects, standardizing facilities across Ports & Terminals operations, and ensuring proper stocking of essential supplies. The role also manages daily catering services, monitors supplier contracts and performance, ensures compliance with food safety regulations and local authorities, and coordinates special events and seasonal refreshment programs. The position involves budget planning, inventory oversight, cost control, supplier management, team leadership, documentation, compliance with HSE and company policies, continuous improvement initiatives, and system enhancement coordination to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities
- Oversee overall condition, cleanness, and functionality of Operations Resource Pool employee facilities including mess halls, restrooms, break rooms, prayer rooms, and shift change areas
- Plan and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance in coordination with Facility Management and Operations
- Lead new facilities development, repair, and renovation projects in line with operational needs and budget approvals
- Develop and implement facilities inspection schedules to regularly assess cleanness, functionality, and employee experience
- Supervise cleaning services and ensure adherence to schedules especially in high-traffic areas
- Ensure essential facilities supplies such as tissues and sanitizers are always stocked
- Monitor water and electricity utilization and implement tools to minimize waste
- Oversee daily catering services, ensuring high-quality food and service levels in coordination with supplier supervisors
- Manage catering supplier contracts, ensuring alignment with company standards and HSE guidelines
- Monitor hygiene practices, delivery schedules, and employee satisfaction levels in catering services
- Review and approve weekly food menus and manage special occasions catering requirements
- Plan and implement daily and seasonal refreshment programs, ensuring safe and fair distribution
- Manage material inventories, relevant stores, and systematic inventory management of furniture, food items, disposables, and other resources
- Lead annual budget process for facilities, catering, and refreshment programs; monitor monthly performance and track variances
- Lead suppliers management processes including selection, negotiation, contract management, onboarding, performance evaluation, renewals, and terminations
- Develop supplier performance KPIs, conduct evaluations, and implement corrective actions
- Lead, mentor, and develop team members, ensuring proper training, performance measurement, and fostering a culture of accountability and service excellence
- Ensure compliance of facilities, catering, and refreshment services with company policies, health and safety standards, and local regulatory requirements
Experience & skills
