Job description
Reporting into the Reliability Manager at Tasnee's Jubail plant, this superintendent leads the Electrical and Instruments (E&I) Team and answers for plant targets and critical equipment reliability. Safety comes first, with every task carried out in line with HSE policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. The core of the work is keeping E&I assets reliable through monitoring, maintenance programmes, root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and corrective actions that also bring maintenance costs down. Condition monitoring, predictive maintenance and risk-based, criticality-based strategies are yours to develop, all aimed at maximising asset availability. Budgets sit with this position too, including annual operating budgets, fixed costs and CAPEX plans for the E&I Reliability Section. People development carries real weight, covering competency assessment, training plans, coaching and annual performance appraisals. During major turnarounds, shutdowns, outages and TAM, the team provides maintenance support under your direction. Longer term, you shape short and long-term reliability strategies and assess emerging technologies that could improve asset reliability. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 10 years of related experience, ideally in the petrochemical industry, are required.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Promote a strong safety culture within the Reliability team and ensure compliance with all HSE policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
- Manage the integrity, reliability and performance of E&I assets through monitoring, maintenance and reliability programmes aligned with industry standards
- Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and implement corrective actions that improve reliability and reduce maintenance costs
- Develop and implement condition monitoring and predictive maintenance strategies to maximise asset availability
- Review and improve E&I reliability procedures, standards and practices

- Provide technical expertise and guidance on E&I maintenance, reliability studies, troubleshooting and operational challenges
- Support the Reliability Manager and Engineers in meeting reliability, availability and performance objectives
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve asset reliability
- Lead workforce development, including competency assessment, training plans, coaching and annual performance appraisals
- Prepare and control annual operating budgets, fixed costs and CAPEX plans for the E&I Reliability Section
- Consolidate and monitor departmental budgets, work programmes and resource plans
- Foster communication and collaboration between the E&I Reliability Section and other departments
- Coach employees through regular performance feedback to build capability and succession readiness
- Assist maintenance activities during major turnarounds, shutdowns, outages and TAM
- Drive timely closure of reliability recommendations, action plans and stakeholder commitments
