Job description
The Head of Technology Finance at Emirates NBD leads financial management and analysis for the Group Technology division, ensuring robust budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes that support strategic decision-making, cost discipline, and adherence to financial governance and compliance standards. The role partners closely with Group Technology leadership on forward-looking strategies, providing financial guidance and oversight. Key accountabilities include preparing forward-looking budgets for Group Technology operations and Capex; monitoring and analyzing financial performance to highlight critical risks and opportunities; collaborating with Technology leaders to align financial planning with strategic objectives; conceptualizing, developing, and maintaining financial models and tools to track and forecast technology costs and IT manpower planning; overseeing detailed financial reports and dashboards for IT stakeholders; conducting advanced cost-benefit analyses for key IT initiatives; identifying and mitigating risks in financial performance; supporting leadership with actionable financial insights; partnering with technology teams to evaluate and prioritize investment opportunities and assess financial viability and return on investment; enabling business units to gain visibility on costs of technology services, applications, and infrastructure (including cost drivers and allocated expenses) and translating value delivered by IT investments through governance over the IT pricing model based on Technology Business Management (TBM); partnering on Technology off-shoring strategy with IT leadership by monitoring cost arbitrage effectiveness; ensuring compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements; leading financial audits and resolving identified issues; establishing and maintaining governance frameworks and policies for IT finance; addressing regulatory submissions and maintaining accurate records; driving cross-functional collaboration among IT and Group Finance with proactive stakeholder engagement, timely communication, and dispute resolution; developing points of view on financial implications of digital technologies and their organizational impact; collaborating with Digital office teams to assess potential Fintech partnerships and financial implications; and managing and mentoring a team of finance professionals to foster excellence, continuous improvement, and contributions to cross-functional projects. The role requires 7ā10 years of financial management experience (preferably within IT finance in a banking environment), a bachelorās degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CFA/CPA preferred), expertise in FP&A for IT divisions, strong understanding of cost management and resource allocation, technology off-shoring experience in banking (preferred), advanced proficiency with financial systems such as SAP and Oracle, leadership and team management skills, excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, strong knowledge of Fintech trends and digital technologies and their financial implications, deep understanding of technology cost drivers (infrastructure, software licensing, hardware procurement), and proficiency in cost modeling, variance analysis, and ROI calculations. The position is located at Building Q, Meydan, Nadd Al Shiba, Dubai, AE, within a bank that offers flexible work policy enabling work from home when it suits.

- Establish and maintain robust governance frameworks and policies for IT finance, addressing regulatory submissions and record-keeping
- Drive cross-functional collaboration among IT and Group Finance, ensuring proactive stakeholder engagement, timely communication, and dispute resolution
- Develop and articulate informed points of view on financial implications of digital technologies and collaborate with Digital office on Fintech partnership assessments
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement and overseeing contributions to cross-functional projects
Experience & skills
- Possess 7ā10 years of experience in financial management roles, preferably within IT finance in a banking environment
- Hold a bachelorās degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional certifications such as CFA or CPA preferred
- Demonstrate expertise in financial planning and analysis for IT divisions and strong understanding of cost management and resource allocation
- Show experience with Technology off-shoring in banking industries (preferred) and ability to monitor cost arbitrage effectiveness
- Exhibit advanced proficiency in financial systems such as SAP and Oracle and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrate excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities and leadership and team management skills
- Display strong knowledge of Fintech industry trends, digital technologies, and their financial implications
- Understand technology cost drivers including infrastructure, software licensing, and hardware procurement
