Job description
This role at Fluor involves performing and/or supervising project control activities, particularly in planning, cost, and scheduling functions on engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects. It may also include leading a small Project Controls team or serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across broader project assignments. Responsibilities include developing work breakdown structures, integrated EPC schedules, margin and variance analyses, and cost control reporting, while recommending and implementing recovery solutions where necessary.

Key responsibilities
- Develop Work Breakdown and Project Coding Structures for control and integrity of contract-defined work.
- Create fully integrated engineering, procurement, and construction schedules and cost control programs.
- Recommend solutions or recovery plans to mitigate schedule or cost delays and impacts.
- Act as Cost Specialist and develop/analyze Project Margin Analysis Report (PMAR).
- Analyze variances in cost and schedule performance against the plan and communicate findings.
- Coordinate with estimators to develop and refine cost estimates.
- Supervise or mentor small project control teams as a Control Team Leader on small projects.
- Support project assignments and business-related matters, including potential international travel.
- Execute job responsibilities in accordance with local, national, and company regulations and policies.
- Ensure detail-oriented work in time-sensitive project environments.
Experience & skills
- Accredited four-year degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and 12 years of experience if non-degreed.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience (if degreed).
- Strong job-related technical knowledge and attention to detail.
- Effective communication with management, coworkers, clients, and contractors.
- Understanding of local, state/province, and federal regulatory guidelines.
- Leadership experience as Control Team Lead on small or large projects.
- Practical experience using automated cost or schedule management systems.
- Ability to travel internationally if required for project needs.
