Job description
The Senior Manager, GBS Non-Trade Procurement for Emerging Markets is a leadership role within adidasā Global Business Services (GBS) organization, responsible for driving tactical procurement activities across multiple categories such as Marketing, IT, Professional Services, and Facilities. The role encompasses end-to-end procurement operations, including team leadership of a diverse multinational group of 5+ buyers, continuous improvement of processes, people, and tools, and proactive management of key stakeholders and supplier relationships across multiple time zones. This position ensures top customer satisfaction by delivering cost savings, compliance, operational excellence, and insightful analyses. Responsibilities include developing purchasing competences, coaching and motivating the team, managing SLA/KPI delivery, implementing automation initiatives such as e-commerce and e-auctions, process documentation, and ensuring operational excellence across the GBS procurement function.

- Provide hands-on coaching, training, guidance, and motivation to a diverse team of procurement professionals, fostering skill development and performance excellence.
- Proactively build and maintain productive relationships with global business partners, stakeholders, and end-users to ensure alignment and satisfaction across procurement categories.
- Support end-to-end procurement process improvements, oversee day-to-day tactical buying operations, and ensure timely delivery of services in line with SLAs and KPIs.
- Ensure full compliance with procurement processes, policies, and internal controls, while actively proposing and implementing initiatives to enhance productivity and performance.
- Drive adoption of e-commerce procurement, e-auctions, and automation initiatives to optimize operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness across categories.
- Supervise special projects and operational performance, ensuring process documentation, work instructions, and proactive cooperation with local teams are in place.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual) to support transparency, decision-making, and commercial visibility across the organization.
- Lead initiatives that embed world-class procurement practices, ensuring continuous improvement in tools, processes, and team capabilities within the GBS framework.
Experience & skills
- University degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline with strong analytical and commercial foundations.
- Minimum of 3 years of team management experience and 5+ years of strategic and/or tactical purchasing experience, preferably within a GBS environment.
- Proven leadership skills with initiative, results orientation, and ability to coach and develop a high-performing team.
- Strong commercial acumen, stakeholder management, and ability to influence across cultures, functions, and regions.
- Deep knowledge of procurement processes, internal controls, and continuous improvement methodologies, with experience in operational excellence.
- Experience with ERP systems, ideally SAP or Ariba, and ticketing solutions for procurement operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or equivalent tools, with strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
- Six Sigma qualifications are a plus; additional language skills are advantageous.
- International/global mindset with experience collaborating with multinational stakeholders across time zones.
