Job description
Precious metals trading carries serious financial crime, sanctions and sourcing risk, and this Head of Compliance in Dubai leads the programme that manages it across multiple UAE entities. AML, KYC, CDD, EDD, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring and beneficial ownership assessments for high-risk counterparties all sit under your oversight. Source of funds, source of wealth, supply chain integrity and responsible sourcing across operations in the Middle East, Latin America, Europe and Asia need careful evaluation. Policies, procedures, controls and governance frameworks are built and improved here, often starting from limited existing infrastructure. Senior leadership looks to you for advice, and relationships with regulators, banks, auditors and external advisors are managed directly. Internal investigations into financial crime, sanctions concerns or compliance breaches end with clear recommendations on risk acceptance and mitigation. Candidates need proven experience leading AML, financial crime, compliance or risk functions in precious metals, commodities trading, banking or financial services, with a deep understanding of UAE AML/CFT rules. Knowledge of OECD Due Diligence Guidance and LBMA Responsible Sourcing Standards is highly advantageous. The package is AED 30,000 to 35,000 per month, with international travel possible.
