Job description
This is an opportunity for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer with expertise in large-scale gas processing projects. The role is focused on delivering high-quality design and engineering work while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and client requirements. The Senior Civil Engineer will supervise and mentor junior engineers, lead design activities, participate in technical and client meetings, and contribute to project planning, change management, and process improvements. The role requires both technical expertise and the ability to engage with stakeholders, manage change, and drive productivity in a complex, high-pressure environment.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Undertake Civil design work of units as required and supervise assigned engineers
- Execute Civil engineering activities within budget and schedule while maintaining technical integrity
- Ensure design methods, standards, and data used conform with client requirements
- Review and approve Civil diagrams, P&IDs, equipment and civil specifications, and structural descriptions
- Review and approve dynamic simulation, transient studies, surge studies, and MDMT studies
- Review and approve depressurization studies, flare load estimation, and flare system design
- Ensure safety standards and environmental and quality assurance procedures are followed
- Provide input to HAZOP, SIL, and other safety reviews
- Identify new methodologies for higher productivity
- Review supplier quotations and project deliverables
- Participate in technical meetings and discussions with client engineers
- Identify project progress issues and report to managers
- Mentor and train junior engineers
- Assist in preparation of planning packages, scheduling, and weekly reports
- Assist with pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures and operating manuals
- Support manhours estimation and scheduling for proposals
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in Engineering or related field
- 10+ years of experience in Civil Engineering
- Pipe rack studies experience and strong structural background
- Understanding of organizational change and change management
- Experience with gas processing projects
- Competence in engineering and discipline-specific software
- Experience in dynamic simulation, flare system design, and safety studies
- Ability to articulate messages clearly to various audiences
- Strong written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to engage with senior leadership
- Experience in mentoring and developing junior engineers
