Job description
Month-end and year-end close processes set the rhythm for this Senior Accountant in the UAE, with accurate financial statements as the end result. VAT returns are prepared and submitted in line with Federal Tax Authority rules, and corporate tax filings are overseen in liaison with the tax authorities. SAP and wider ERP configurations and processes are maintained and improved, often alongside cross-functional teams working on system enhancements. Detailed account reconciliations catch discrepancies, and corrective actions follow. Management reports, variance analyses and forecasts give the business a clear view of performance. External audits need coordination, and internal controls and accounting policies are kept strong. Candidates need a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, 5 to 7 years of progressive experience, ideally in the UAE or GCC, in-depth knowledge of UAE VAT and corporate tax, and hands-on SAP configuration and transaction experience. CPA, ACCA or CMA, IFRS knowledge and ERP implementation experience are preferred.
