Job description
The Assistant Manager â Business Development at DP World in Dubai is responsible for driving commercial growth by converting qualified inquiries into successful lease agreements, managing client negotiations, and ensuring compliance across operational and contractual processes. DP World is a global logistics leader operating across ports, terminals, marine services, logistics, and technology, with a mission to transform and streamline global trade. The role involves end-to-end business development activities including client presentations, deal structuring, and coordination with internal teams to integrate customer requirements into project execution. The Assistant Manager will maintain accurate CRM records, report on sales pipelines, and collaborate with legal, finance, operations, and development departments to ensure seamless contract execution and compliance. Additional responsibilities include participation in exhibitions, roadshows, and promotional events to represent DP World, engaging with government agencies in India and the UAE, and collecting market and competitor intelligence in partnership with the Central Business Intelligence team. The position requires strong commercial acumen, stakeholder management capabilities, and analytical skills to provide management with insights on market trends, pricing benchmarks, and customer behavior. The role contributes directly to DP Worldâs strategic objective of creating efficient, technology-driven supply chain solutions that enhance global trade.

Key responsibilities
- Convert qualified inquiries into signed lease agreements, manage company formation processes, and ensure deposit collection
- Lead client presentations, negotiations, and contract finalization to close deals effectively
- Maintain CRM systems and provide accurate, up-to-date reporting on sales pipelines and business opportunities
- Liaise with Engineering and Development teams to incorporate client requirements into project design and execution phases
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and operations departments to ensure contractual and operational compliance
- Participate in exhibitions, roadshows, and promotional events to promote DP Worldâs services and engage potential clients
- Engage with relevant government agencies in India and the UAE to facilitate approvals and partnerships
- Collect and analyze market intelligence and competitor data in coordination with the Central BI team
- Prepare periodic management reports on market trends, pricing benchmarks, and customer insights
Experience & skills
- Demonstrate experience in business development, sales, or client relationship management (preferably in logistics, trade, or real estate sectors)
- Possess strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to manage high-level client interactions
- Exhibit proficiency in CRM systems and data-driven sales reporting
- Show ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, legal, finance, and operations
- Have knowledge of government liaison processes in the UAE and India (preferred)
- Be capable of analyzing market trends, pricing data, and competitor insights for strategic recommendations
