The role supports DP Worldâs Government Relations & Public Affairs function by delivering strategic diplomatic engagement, protocol leadership, and government stakeholder coordination across the UAE and international markets. Responsibilities include building and maintaining relationships with ministries, embassies, consulates, federal entities, and international organisations, representing DP World at diplomatic engagements, and preparing high-level briefing materials, talking points, strategic summaries, and follow-up documentation for leadership. The position manages the full lifecycle of VIP and VVIP delegations, overseeing protocol requirements, agenda design, logistics, security coordination, and strategic engagement activities while ensuring strict adherence to national and international protocol standards. The role provides political, economic, regulatory, and risk intelligence, synthesising complex developments into structured updates and integrating insights with Group Security for business planning. Additional duties include acting as the central focal point for government-related activity across headquarters and regional offices, facilitating joint initiatives with government bodies and foreign missions, maintaining stakeholder databases, managing documentation, producing delegation outcome summaries, and drafting diplomatic correspondence in Arabic and English. The role oversees port and free zone familiarisation tours for high-level stakeholders, designing engagement agendas, coordinating internal clearances, maintaining delegation records, and aligning experiences with GRPA strategic objectives. The position upholds confidentiality, cultural sensitivity, representation standards, and DP Worldâs values, supporting leadership across a fast-paced government affairs environment.

Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with ministries, embassies, consulates, federal entities, and international government organisations.
- Represent DP World in diplomatic and senior government engagements, ensuring alignment with GRPA strategies and protocol standards.
- Prepare briefs, talking points, background notes, and follow-up documentation for leadership in high-level meetings.
- Lead and coordinate VIP and VVIP delegations including agenda design, protocol adherence, logistics planning, and security alignment.
- Serve as protocol advisor for Chairman and C-suite level visits, ensuring full compliance with national and international protocol requirements.
- Prepare tailored visit agendas, management summaries, and strategic profiles for incoming delegations.
- Collect, analyse, and summarise political, economic, regulatory, and risk developments affecting DP Worldâs operations.
- Produce structured intelligence updates and briefing papers for senior leadership.
- Coordinate with Group Security and internal teams to integrate geopolitical insights into business planning.
- Liaise with departments such as JAFZA, Ports & Terminals, Security, Corporate Communications, Legal, and People to ensure alignment and high-quality execution.
- Act as the central focal point for government-related activities across headquarters and regional offices.
- Support planning and implementation of joint initiatives with government bodies, trade missions, and foreign policy partners.
- Maintain delegation management tools and stakeholder databases.
- Document visit outcomes, action points, and follow-up requirements, producing monthly GRPA highlight reports and strategic updates.
- Draft official letters and diplomatic correspondence in Arabic and English.
- Provide cultural and protocol advisory support to internal teams.
- Design and execute port and free zone familiarisation tours for delegations, including structured agendas, presentations, and required clearances.
- Track engagement outcomes and compile detailed delegation reports with recommendations for follow-up.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorâs degree in Business Administration, International Relations, Political Science or related field.
- Arabic and English fluency (written and spoken).
- 3â5 years of experience in Government Relations, International Affairs, Protocol, or Diplomatic Engagement.
- Experience in logistics, ports, trade, or public sector relations is highly desirable.
- Proven experience engaging senior government officials and managing VIP delegations.
- Strong diplomatic and political awareness with exceptional protocol capabilities.
- Ability to prepare high-quality briefing materials, reports, and strategic summaries.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Strong research and analytical capabilities for summarising complex political, economic, and regulatory information.
- Advanced coordination, planning, and multi-tasking abilities.
- Confidence operating in high-pressure, fast-paced diplomatic environments.
