Job description
Manages all engineering and maintenance operations, including maintaining the building, grounds, and physical plant with a focus on safety, security, and asset protection. Responsible for the engineering budget, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Leads the emergency response team for all facility issues.

Key responsibilities
- Supervise Engineering in the absence of the Director of Engineering
- Manage the physical plant including equipment, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems
- Establish and manage an effective rooms maintenance program
- Ensure compliance with all Engineering policies, standards, and procedures
- Control departmental expenses to meet or exceed budget
- Order equipment, supplies, and furnishings
- Inspect and evaluate physical condition of facilities
- Recommend or arrange for additional maintenance services
- Maintain accurate logs and records
- Plan and evaluate preventative maintenance programs
- Resolve guest problems and complaints
- Empower employees to provide excellent service
- Communicate property maintenance priorities
- Celebrate staff successes and foster team collaboration
- Support compliance with facility regulations and safety standards
- Review employee satisfaction and address concerns
Experience & skills
- High school diploma or GED and 4 years of engineering/maintenance experience OR
- 2-year degree in Engineering or related field and 2 years of engineering/maintenance experience
- Technical training in HVAC-R, electrical, or plumbing
- Ability to supervise and lead engineering operations
- Strong understanding of building systems and maintenance
- Experience managing budgets and capital projects
- Ability to ensure regulatory and safety compliance
- Experience handling customer complaints and leading emergency response teams
