Job description
The Senior QA/QC Engineer β Electrical & Instrumentation at KBR Abu Dhabi will be responsible for overseeing quality assurance and quality control across offshore and onshore electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, and piping systems. The role supports a mega oil and gas FEED/EPC project exceeding US$1 Billion, including Well Head Tower, Subsea cable, and Brownfield Modification works. The position involves on-site offshore presence with a 4 weeks on/4 weeks off rotation, collaborating with both client and contractor teams. Candidates must have minimum 15 years overall experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with at least 5 years on ADNOC projects and similar positions in large-scale projects. The engineer will apply deep technical domain expertise, licensed process technologies, high-end design and engineering capabilities, energy transition solutions, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets while supporting sustainability objectives across the entire asset life cycle.

Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and enforce QA/QC procedures for Electrical & Instrumentation, Mechanical, and Piping systems across all phases of the project, ensuring compliance with client and contractor specifications.
- Conduct detailed inspections and audits of Well Head Tower, Subsea cable, and Piping installations to verify adherence to project requirements, international standards, and ADNOC regulations, reporting any non-conformities.
- Coordinate QA/QC teams across client office, contractor office, and offshore sites to ensure smooth communication and alignment of quality objectives across all project stakeholders.
- Review and approve technical documentation, including quality plans, inspection reports, test procedures, and as-built documentation to ensure all deliverables comply with contractual obligations and industry best practices.
- Monitor the performance of subcontractors and suppliers, verifying that their work aligns with project quality standards, and provide guidance on corrective actions for identified deficiencies.
- Support design and engineering teams by providing quality input during FEED/EPC stages, ensuring that design solutions are constructible, compliant with standards, and optimize project lifecycle performance.
- Implement and maintain traceability systems for materials, components, and testing activities, ensuring accurate records for project audits, regulatory inspections, and operational handover.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing QA/QC data, identifying trends and recurring issues, and recommending preventive measures to improve quality performance across the project.
Experience & skills
- Minimum 15 years of professional experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with proven expertise in QA/QC engineering for large-scale projects.
- At least 5 years of experience working specifically on ADNOC projects, demonstrating knowledge of ADNOC quality standards, regulations, and approval processes.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior QA/QC role for mega FEED/EPC projects valued at over US$1 Billion, including management of electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, and piping systems.
- Bachelorβs degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution, providing foundational knowledge in engineering principles, materials, and construction standards.
- Experience with Well Head Tower, Subsea Cable, and Piping projects, including installation, testing, commissioning, and modification works within Brownfield sites.
- Proven ability to manage offshore QA/QC operations under rotational schedules, coordinating effectively with multidisciplinary teams on complex engineering and construction projects.
- Strong expertise in asset life cycle management, applying technical domain expertise, licensed process technologies, energy transition solutions, and smart asset optimization techniques to enhance project performance.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct inspections, audits, and reviews, prepare detailed reports, ensure compliance with project and regulatory requirements, and implement continuous improvement measures.
