Job description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is hiring a Cloud Operations Architect (COA) in Bahrain to serve as a strategic technical advisor and drive operational excellence for customers across the MENA region. The COA plays a key role in helping customers adopt and maximize value from AWS technologies, serving as their advocate and guiding them in areas such as incident management, risk mitigation, solution building, and performance optimization. This is a customer-facing, non-sales role for individuals passionate about driving digital transformation through cloud technologies.

Key responsibilities
- Advise customers on solutions, provide technical guidance, and advocate for their needs.
- Ensure AWS environments are operationally healthy while reducing cost and complexity.
- Develop trusting relationships with customers and understand their business needs and challenges.
- Drive technical discussions around incidents, trade-offs, and risk management.
- Consult with developers, architects, and C-suite executives across customer organizations.
- Collaborate with AWS Solutions Architects, Professional Services, Sales, and Business Development teams.
- Proactively identify opportunities for customers to gain additional value from AWS.
- Provide detailed reviews of service events, operational metrics, and pre-launch planning.
- Support customers during workload migrations to the cloud.
Experience & skills
- Experience in roles such as Technical Account Manager, Consultant, Solutions Architect, or Systems Engineer.
- Proficiency in at least two areas: Compute, Storage, Networking, CDN, Databases, DevOps, Big Data, Security, Architecture, or Applications Development.
- Customer-facing experience with the ability to communicate with both technical and executive audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional experience with AWS and/or other cloud providers (Azure, GCP).
- Programming or scripting experience in Java, Python, Perl, Ruby, C#, or PHP.
- Knowledge of DevOps tools and practices including CI/CD, Puppet, Docker, Kubernetes, and Chef.
