Job description
The Senior Financial Advisor at CBD is responsible for managing and handling a portfolio of potentially stressed and restructured corporate clients. The role involves credit analysis, financial restructuring, and proactive relationship management in compliance with regulatory and internal frameworks. The advisor will conduct client visits, negotiate repayment or restructuring strategies, and guide a team of Relationship Officers. Reporting directly to leadership, the role requires a strong commercial acumen and the ability to monitor risk, enhance profitability, and contribute to corporate strategy within the UAEās banking environment.

Key responsibilities
- Management and handling of potentially stressed and/or restructured portfolio to retain quality in line with business policies
- Negotiate, structure and recommend restructuring solutions in conformity with underwriting standards and risk targets
- Maintain and manage existing group accounts in the stressed portfolio
- Provide expertise for proactive monitoring and management of watch-listed clients
- Conduct regular client visits and record them through call reports
- Target upgrading problematic relationships into creditworthy business relationships
- Target orderly repayment plans for problematic relationships
- Ensure effective and professional internal and external communications to improve turnaround time and client satisfaction
- Ensure timely credit administration through annual reviews and monitoring financials and covenants
- Manage a team of Relationship Officers, set targets, provide guidance and conduct performance reviews
- Comply with internal audit requirements to maintain consistency and high standards
- Keep abreast of developments in the local business environment and contribute to corporate strategy
- Provide management with regular reports and MIS
- Develop strong local contacts within the business and financial community
Experience & skills
- 10+ years of experience in corporate banking, with at least 8 years in UAE
- Exposure to emerging markets preferred
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic planning ability
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships as a senior bank representative
- Degree in Economics, Finance, or Business Management
- Good command of English and Arabic
- Planning and organizing skills
