Job description
As a Corporate Antitrust Mid-Level Lawyer in Riyadh, you will advise high-profile clients across sectors including technology, energy, finance, media, and infrastructure. Your work will encompass the full spectrum of antitrust lawâranging from merger control and market investigations to cartel defense and abuse of dominance cases. You'll be responsible for preparing merger filings with the Saudi General Authority of Competition, managing local and global multi-jurisdictional filings, and providing strategic counsel on regulatory matters. The role demands both technical excellence and commercial awareness, with strong emphasis on legal drafting, cross-border collaboration, and client development. Youâll also contribute to internal training, develop firm-wide know-how, and play a pivotal role in thought leadership initiatives.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Advise clients on merger control, including preparation of filings to the Saudi General Authority of Competition
- Coordinate international antitrust filings resulting from transactions originating in Saudi Arabia
- Assist in cartel and abuse of dominance investigations and inquiries
- Provide legal support on cooperation, licensing, and distribution arrangements
- Develop strong working relationships with clients and support business development activities
- Engage in internal training initiatives and build knowledge-sharing platforms within the corporate team
- Contribute to market investigations and sector-specific regulatory analysis
- Collaborate with global antitrust team on aligning international best practices
- Support litigation teams in antitrust-related disputes
- Provide strategic counsel on reputational, regulatory, and commercial risks
Experience & skills
- 4â6 years of post-qualification experience in antitrust and competition law at a recognized law firm
- Experience advising on merger control, cartels, and regulatory compliance, preferably in a multi-jurisdictional context
- Excellent drafting and legal analysis skills, particularly in English
- Experience working in an international legal environment or common law system
- Track record of supervising junior lawyers and taking lead roles on transactions or investigations
- Familiarity with Saudi legal and regulatory frameworks; Arabic language skills preferred but not mandatory
- Strong business acumen and client-facing communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex legal work independently and as part of a cross-border team
- Proven capability in business development and thought leadership
- Outstanding academic background with a law degree from a reputable institution
