Job description
The Lead Quantity Surveyor at Egis will oversee post-contract cost management for a high-profile residential development in Dubai. The role involves leading a team of Senior Quantity Surveyors and Quantity Surveyors, acting as the primary commercial contact for the client, ensuring cost control, contract compliance, and delivering high-quality commercial management across multiple project packages.

Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage a site-based team of Quantity Surveyors across multiple project phases
- Own all cost control, measurement, and valuation activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Serve as the primary commercial point of contact with client, consultants, and contractors
- Review and approve payment applications, variations, and claims in line with contracts
- Prepare and present monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and commercial dashboards
- Oversee procurement strategies, tender analysis, and contract administration
- Lead change management processes, advising the client on risks and mitigation strategies
- Provide visible leadership and mentorship to junior cost management staff
- Champion best practices, tools, and systems for commercial management functions
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions without compromising quality
- Manage complex stakeholder expectations while maintaining programme and commercial targets
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local construction legislation, market rates, and benchmarks
- Support client relationship management and business development through high-quality delivery
Experience & skills
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying (BSc QS) and MRICS membership or equivalent
- 15+ years of relevant experience with 10+ years on large-scale projects
- 7+ years of experience in the Middle East
- Proven consultancy background in leading post-contract cost management services
- Fluent English; Arabic advantageous
- Proficiency in CostX and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Strong analytical, numerical, and negotiation skills
- Deep knowledge of construction industry standards, procurement, and cost management best practices
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills to manage multiple teams under pressure
