Job description
The Senior Financial Analyst at Legend Holding Group in Dubai is responsible for managing and analyzing financial information to support accurate reporting, compliance, and decision-making across the organization. The role involves close collaboration with internal departments to gather, analyze, and interpret financial data, performing audits on financial records to ensure accuracy and truthfulness, and aligning general ledger accounting practices with budgeting and forecasting requirements. The position includes responsibility for maintaining balance sheet schedules, performing month-end and year-end close processes, reconciling general ledger accounts, and preparing and posting journal entries including accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, interdepartmental entries, and closing joint ventures. The role prepares financial statements and management reports, analyzes budget variances, manages supporting documentation, performs foreign currency exchange analysis, and advises management on accounting and financial matters. A significant component of the role focuses on tax accounting and compliance, including VAT, Corporate Tax, and Withholding Tax, ensuring accurate postings, reconciliations, audit readiness, adherence to filing deadlines, and alignment with transfer pricing policies. The Senior Financial Analyst supports internal and external audits, works with tax and compliance teams, assists IT teams during ERP system implementations, monitors changes in tax legislation, and contributes to tax optimization initiatives, while operating with guidance from the Finance Manager or Accounts Supervisor and independently managing daily and periodic finance activities.

Key responsibilities

- Perform audits on financial data to ensure accuracy and integrity
- Align general ledger accounting practices with budgeting and forecasting requirements
- Maintain balance sheet schedules and execute month-end and year-end close processes
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and perform detailed account analysis
- Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, interdepartmental entries, and joint venture closings
- Prepare financial statements, financial reports, and management reporting packs
- Analyze and report on budget variances
- Maintain financial documentation and recordkeeping
- Analyze and process foreign currency exchanges
- Advise management on accounting and financial matters
- Support internal auditors, external auditors, and tax/compliance departments
- Support IT department during new ERP system implementations
- Ensure compliance with VAT, Corporate Tax, and Withholding Tax regulations in all general ledger postings
- Reconcile and maintain VAT, Corporate Tax, and WHT schedules
- Post tax-related journal entries including provisions, accruals, and adjustments
- Ensure accounting entries reflect outcomes of tax audits, amended returns, and credit notes
- Monitor tax filing deadlines and escalate compliance issues when required
- Provide data to tax teams for statutory returns and regulatory submissions
- Monitor tax legislation updates and implement required changes in accounting processes
- Support tax planning, audits, and management reporting activities
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Finance
- CMA, CPA, or CA-Intermediate qualification preferred
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Finance, Accounts, Audit, or related fields in the UAE
- Experience with general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and closing processes
- Knowledge of VAT, Corporate Tax, and Withholding Tax regulations
- Experience supporting internal and external audits
- Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards and International Standards of Audit
