Job description
The IFRS9 & ECL Reporting Officer in the Group Risk Management Department is responsible for running the Moodys IFRS9 RCO across multiple environments and contexts for different units and subsidiaries. The role includes maintaining, updating, and monitoring the Expected Credit Loss (ECL) framework, ensuring compliance with IFRS9 guidelines, Basel standards, and internal risk management policies. This position requires advanced knowledge of SQL and related database technologies, as well as statistical tools such as SAS, R, and Python. The officer will generate IFRS9 ECL provision results quarterly for both Group and Unit levels, validate RCO integration with other risk systems, prepare analytical ECL reports, and maintain internal standards, policies, and rules in line with regulatory changes. Responsibilities extend to supporting strategic initiatives including Risk MI Dashboard, Stress Testing, ICAAP, portfolio reporting, and automation of ECL computation, alongside reconciliation of P&L charges between Group Finance and Group Risk.

Key responsibilities
- Generate IFRS9 ECL provision results on a quarterly basis using Moodys RCO across Group and Unit environments/contexts
- Engage with ABC Subsidiaries and Business Units to collect, validate, and verify data accuracy through periodic checks
- Generate analytical reports related to ECL from strategic systems
- Define and validate integration of the RCO with other risk management systems
- Prepare and maintain all internal IFRS9 standards, policies, and rules, and monitor regulatory or policy changes for impact assessment
- Support strategic risk management initiatives including Risk MI Dashboard, Stress Testing, ICAAP, and portfolio reporting
- Maintain and monitor ECL strategic system configuration, perform UAT for RCO changes, and assist with ECL computation automation
- Report P&L charges to GCC, including reconciliation between Group Finance and Group Risk, including Stage 3 accounts with Group RLU
Experience & skills
- 2-5 years of experience in a similar function with a large regional or global financial institution
- Graduate degree in Banking & Finance or related field
- Strong knowledge of IFRS9 regulations and credit risk measurement techniques such as risk ratings
- Hands-on proficiency in SQL and related database technologies, as well as statistical tools SAS, R, and Python
- Advanced Excel skills, including data cleaning, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, and large-dataset management
- High-level data handling skills with the ability to manage and process large volumes of data
- Ability to learn, adapt, and update skills on the job
- Good organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, reporting requirements, and project timelines
