The role focuses on monitoring systems, supporting incident response, performing vulnerability assessments, and ensuring compliance with internal security policies. The analyst will collaborate closely with senior security professionals and IT teams to protect digital assets and strengthen the organization’s overall security posture. This opportunity is aligned with Emiratization and UAE Talent Development initiatives, providing foundational exposure to enterprise cybersecurity operations, security governance practices, and structured learning pathways within a Security Academy framework.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Continuously monitor security tools, systems, networks, and applications to detect potential threats, vulnerabilities, anomalies, or suspicious activities, escalating issues when necessary to senior team members.
- Assist in incident detection, triage, and response activities by gathering relevant logs and evidence, supporting root cause analysis, and contributing to containment and mitigation efforts under supervision.
- Conduct basic threat analysis to identify emerging cybersecurity risks, malware indicators, phishing attempts, or unusual behavior patterns across the organization’s digital environment.
- Support vulnerability assessments and remediation activities by coordinating scans, documenting findings, tracking remediation progress, and validating closure of identified vulnerabilities.
- Participate in internal security audits and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, contributing to risk reduction efforts.
- Maintain accurate documentation including incident logs, investigation summaries, escalation notes, and security event reports to ensure traceability and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Collaborate closely with IT operations, infrastructure, and application teams to implement security controls, configuration improvements, and preventative measures to enhance the organization’s security posture.
- Engage actively in cybersecurity training programs, foundational Security Academy pathways, and knowledge-sharing sessions to continuously enhance technical skills, certifications readiness, and professional development.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline, demonstrating foundational knowledge of IT and security principles.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals including network security, basic cryptography concepts, common attack vectors, and security best practices.
- Basic knowledge of security monitoring tools, SIEM platforms, endpoint protection systems, or vulnerability scanning tools, gained through academic projects, internships, or certifications.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess security alerts, interpret logs, and support investigations in a structured and detail-oriented manner.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear documentation of incidents and effective collaboration with cross-functional technical teams.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics when handling sensitive security information and organizational data.
- Proactive learning mindset with eagerness to pursue professional cybersecurity certifications (e.g., Security+, CEH, or similar entry-level credentials).
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment while managing assigned tasks independently and meeting deadlines within a fast-paced security operations context.
