Job description
The Manager - Ads Sales at Careem plays a pivotal role in expanding and monetizing the advertising arm of the Careem Super App. Operating in over 70 cities across the Middle East, Careem is rapidly evolving into a multi-service platform that includes mobility, food and grocery delivery, and digital payments. This role offers a unique opportunity to capitalize on Careem's extensive user base and diverse verticals by developing customized advertising strategies for top-tier global and regional brands, CPG companies, and media agencies. As a sales leader in the Ads division, the candidate will own a significant revenue target and be accountable for creating tailored media solutions, driving innovation in ad product offerings, and deepening relationships with advertising partners. This role also requires collaboration with internal product, data, and marketing teams to ensure alignment on business priorities and user experience. The candidate will serve as a brand ambassador for Careem Ads in industry forums and strategic discussions, helping to shape the companyâs presence in the digital ad ecosystem.

Key responsibilities
- Drive sales performance by delivering tailored advertising and retail media solutions aligned with client objectives across Careemâs services, including ride-hailing, food, and grocery.
- Own a sales quota and consistently meet or exceed revenue goals through effective client acquisition and account expansion.
- Cultivate and maintain long-term strategic relationships with top brands, CPGs, entertainment studios, and media agencies across the region.
- Utilize Careem's user behavior insights to position ad products effectively and educate partners on the value of Careem's unique media inventory.
- Partner with cross-functional teamsâincluding Product, Analytics, and Marketingâto develop, refine, and launch ad products and campaign packages that address evolving market needs.
- Assist in the formulation and execution of go-to-market strategies, pricing models, and incentive structures to drive client adoption and sales efficiency.
- Build and manage a healthy pipeline using CRM tools, maintaining clear documentation of all interactions, forecasts, and campaign outcomes.
- Use performance analytics to evaluate campaign success, delivering clear insights and optimization recommendations to advertisers.
- Support and mentor junior team members and contribute to building a culture of excellence, ownership, and collaboration within the Ads team.
- Represent Careem Ads at external client meetings, industry events, and internal executive briefings to communicate progress, success stories, and challenges.
Experience & skills
- Minimum of 5 yearsâ experience in digital advertising, media sales, or retail media environments, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
- Strong network and experience working with advertising/media agencies, particularly within the MENA region.
- Extensive knowledge of digital ad formats, campaign lifecycle management, and retail media monetization strategies.
- Proven ability to manage and expand large advertising accounts across multiple verticals.
- Experience using CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) for pipeline management and sales reporting.
- Deep understanding of media performance metrics such as CTR, CPM, CPA, ROAS, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities with an ability to manage ambiguity and complexity.
- Bachelorâs degree in Business, Marketing, Advertising, or related field; a Masterâs degree is a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage C-level stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth, and innovation-driven environment with a hybrid work structure.
