Job description
The Food & Beverage Supervisor at Aloft Al Ain is responsible for ensuring optimal service delivery and guest satisfaction by leading and supervising the F&B team. The role includes overseeing staff grooming and attire, performing opening and closing duties, maintaining cleanliness and organization of storage and dining areas, managing inventories, monitoring service quality, safety, and seating availability, and completing maintenance work orders. The supervisor acts as a role model, assists in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees. Adherence to company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards is essential. The position requires maintaining positive working relationships, addressing guest service needs, supporting team goals, and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency, productivity, quality, and cost savings.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate staff to ensure teamwork and optimum guest service
- Inspect staff grooming and attire, rectifying deficiencies
- Complete opening and closing duties including setup, cleaning, and securing areas
- Monitor storage areas for organization, cleanliness, and FIFO compliance
- Perform scheduled inventories and requisition necessary supplies
- Monitor dining rooms for seating, service quality, safety, and guest well-being
- Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees
- Serve as role model and first point of contact for company policies including the Open Door Policy
- Ensure compliance with safety, security, and company policies, reporting incidents as required
- Welcome and assist guests, including individuals with disabilities, in line with service standards
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members and other employees
- Identify, recommend, develop, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost-savings
- Perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, moving objects, and navigating confined or elevated spaces
- Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors
Experience & skills
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- At least 2 years of related F&B or hospitality work experience
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience in a hospitality or food & beverage environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of safety and security policies and procedures
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, twisting, and navigating stairs or service ramps
