Job description
The Solution Engineer - Cybersecurity will play a critical role in supporting Microsoftâs customers by driving secure, scalable solution designs and enabling deployment of advanced cybersecurity solutions. This role focuses on engaging enterprise clients in pre-sales and consulting capacities, leveraging Microsoft technologies such as Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Entra, and Purview, as well as third-party platforms like Prisma Cloud, Crowdstrike, and Splunk. The engineer collaborates closely with developers and platform leads, conducting demos, PoCs, hackathons, and architecture workshops to demonstrate the value of Microsoftâs security platform. Responsibilities include integrating security practices throughout the development and DevOps lifecycle, applying Zero Trust principles, and mitigating security threats. The role also involves resolving technical blockers, influencing product design, and driving adoption through thought leadership and community engagement. The position is hybrid, requiring 3 days/week in-office work in Riyadh and occasional travel.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Drive technical sales with decision makers using demos and PoCs to influence solution design and enable production deployments
- Lead hands-on engagements including hackathons, code-with sessions, and architecture workshops
- Build trusted relationships with developers and platform leads, co-designing secure, scalable architectures and solutions
- Resolve technical blockers and objections and collaborate with engineering to improve products
- Maintain deep technical understanding of Microsoft M365 Defender, Defender for Cloud, and Sentinel
- Develop strategies to improve client security posture, shape technical win plans, and tailor messaging for security opportunities
- Enhance team capabilities for extended detection and response (XDR), Zero Trust, and cloud security
- Develop differentiated compete strategies for Microsoft Security for assigned customers
- Represent Microsoft through thought leadership in developer communities and customer forums
Experience & skills
- Hold a Masterâs degree and 3+ years, or a Bachelorâs degree and 4+ years, or 5+ years of technical pre-sales or consulting experience
- Have experience designing and implementing security and governance solutions using Microsoft or other industry platforms
- Demonstrate working knowledge of the Security Development Lifecycle and DevOps integration
- Apply Zero Trust principles, threat modeling, and posture management in enterprise environments
- Have experience with Microsoft Security solutions (M365 Defender, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel) or comparable tools like Prisma Cloud, Crowdstrike, Proofpoint, or Splunk
