Job description
The Learning & Development Manager at Makkah Clock Royal Tower, A Fairmont Hotel, is responsible for implementing and managing the overall training strategy in alignment with hotel and brand standards. This includes designing and executing onboarding, leadership, compliance, and departmental training programs. The role involves conducting regular Training Needs Analyses (TNA), developing tailored learning solutions to close performance gaps, and evaluating training effectiveness using performance metrics and employee feedback. The manager will oversee the Learning Management System (LMS), build partnerships with department heads and external vendors, and create a motivating learning environment. This position plays a strategic role in aligning training programs with operational goals and ensuring inclusive and effective employee development.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute the learning and development strategy for the hotel
- Ensure training programs align with brand standards and operational goals
- Design and deliver onboarding, leadership, service, and compliance training
- Conduct regular Training Needs Analyses (TNA) with department heads
- Develop custom training to address departmental and individual performance gaps
- Ensure content and delivery methods suit diverse employee needs
- Evaluate training effectiveness using metrics and feedback
- Maintain partnerships with internal leaders and external training vendors
- Create an engaging learning environment to encourage participation
- Oversee LMS usage for tracking, planning, and reporting
- Stay current with industry trends and Accor global learning standards
- Escalate training-related issues or risks to senior management as needed
Experience & skills
- Minimum 5 yearsâ experience in a similar role within a luxury five-star hotel or resort
- Successful track record in implementing comprehensive L&D programs
- University or college degree in Hospitality, Human Resources, Education, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, e-learning platforms, and LMS systems
- Fluency in English; Arabic proficiency is preferred
- Certifications in L&D such as Train the Trainer, Instructional Design, or Coaching are a plus
