Job description
The Data Center Project Manager role is based on-site in Dammam, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia and operates within Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation organization, which delivers the core infrastructure and foundational technologies supporting Microsoft’s global cloud services including Azure, Bing, Office 365, Xbox, and OneDrive. The role is responsible for managing assigned data center projects, troubleshooting service incidents, escalating issues to appropriate stakeholders, and ensuring service delivery objectives are met in alignment with defined SLAs and OLAs. The position follows strict safety and security policies and participates in root cause analysis of incidents to minimize disruption to customers and business operations. The role supports data center operations across a large global portfolio of more than 200 data centers, focusing on infrastructure such as critical environment systems, physical IT infrastructure, and operational processes. The Data Center Project Manager manages client and supplier relationships, coordinates schedules, mitigates maintenance risks, ensures budget adherence, and maintains accountability for end-to-end service quality including availability, safety, security, and customer experience. The role also contributes to mentorship across data centers by sharing best practices, supports collaboration across teams, and operates within Microsoft’s security, compliance, sustainability, and operational excellence standards.

Key responsibilities
- Manage assigned data center projects to meet service delivery objectives and operational requirements
- Perform troubleshooting for service incidents and escalate issues appropriately to meet SLA and OLA commitments
- Participate in root cause analysis to identify incident causes and implement corrective actions
- Follow and enforce safety and security policies and procedures and immediately report safety or security concerns
- Monitor costs, adhere to budget requirements, and contribute to maintaining cost efficiency
- Assess potential customer impact from incidents or events and communicate and plan mitigations accordingly
- Review project and maintenance schedules proactively to avoid conflicts and propose alternative solutions when needed
- Manage relationships with clients and suppliers to ensure expectations are clearly defined, documented, and met
- Identify and recommend methods to reduce maintenance risk and coordinate scheduling accommodations
- Maintain accountability for end-to-end service quality including availability, safety, security, and customer experience
- Support escalation of issues to appropriate owners in alignment with management priorities
Experience & skills
- Hold a High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 1 year of industry experience or possess 2+ years of industry experience with college coursework
- Meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements including Microsoft Cloud Background Check
- Demonstrate experience in critical environment infrastructure such as UPS, generators, and AHU systems or physical IT infrastructure including servers, SANs, networking, racks, and structured cabling
- Possess a Technical College degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, which is preferred
- Hold or be eligible for certifications such as PMP, ITIL, CompTIA, Microsoft certifications, Network certifications, CDCP, or ASICS/Inventory Control
