Job description
The Automation Test Engineer at ITL Saudi Arabia in Riyadh is responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts to ensure high-quality deliverables within telecom applications. Working in an Agile environment, the engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, define test strategies, and maintain adherence to STLC best practices. The role includes performing functional, regression, and integration testing, maintaining and optimizing automation frameworks for scalability and efficiency, analyzing test results, identifying defects, and coordinating with developers for resolution. The position requires domain expertise in telecom systems, protocols, and workflows, proficiency in automation tools such as TOSCA, and familiarity with CI/CD processes. Additional skills include AI-driven testing knowledge, API testing, and performance testing. The role emphasizes analytical thinking, initiative, flexibility, customer orientation, quality awareness, and strong communication skills to contribute effectively to the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

- Design and implement automated test cases using TOSCA to validate telecom applications and system workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Agile processes to define test strategies aligned with project requirements.
- Perform functional, regression, and integration testing for telecom systems, ensuring adherence to STLC best practices.
- Maintain, optimize, and enhance automation frameworks to ensure scalability, reusability, and efficiency of test scripts.
- Analyze test results, document defects, and work closely with development teams to facilitate timely resolution of issues.
- Ensure comprehensive test documentation is maintained, including test plans, test cases, and results.
- Support CI/CD integration and leverage tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps to automate and streamline testing workflows.
- Apply AI-driven testing tools and concepts to optimize test coverage, efficiency, and reliability of automated testing.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in automation testing, preferably in telecom applications.
- Strong hands-on experience with automation tools such as TOSCA.
- In-depth knowledge of STLC and Agile methodologies.
- Understanding of telecom systems, protocols, and workflows.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with API testing and performance testing tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- ISTQB certification preferred.
- Added advantage: knowledge of AI-driven testing tools or machine learning concepts for test optimization.
