Job description
The Assistant Manager (Finance US) will support the finance, accounting, commercial, and economic aspects of Mubadala Energy’s investments in the USA in alignment with corporate policies. The role includes managing performance reporting, budgeting, audits, and financial compliance while facilitating decision-making processes. It requires expertise in IFRS, US GAAP, petroleum fiscal regimes, and investment analysis. The role also supports ad-hoc projects for senior management, asset management initiatives, and financial risk oversight.

Key responsibilities
- Preparation of 5-Year annual plan including assumptions, financial models, and presentations with analysis
- Preparation of consolidated reports and Plan-on-Plan analysis
- Upload business plan inputs into financial systems
- Analyse monthly reports received from investments
- Perform monthly accounting in line with IFRS
- Prepare monthly forecast report with variance analysis and commentary
- Upload Forecast into financial systems
- Prepare monthly cash forecast and quarterly impairment assessments
- Analyse statement of financial position to highlight risks and opportunities
- Support Asset Management team in investment analysis and ad-hoc requests
- Attend Asset Management meetings as required
- Provide support for monthly and quarterly reviews
- Prepare financial analysis for delegation of authority approvals
- Support internal and external audit teams in planning and execution
- Prepare general ledger journal entries and review invoices
- Develop and execute post-audit action plans
- Provide financial information for quarterly/year-end statutory audits and group reporting
- Prepare financial statements and extend audit support
- Support financial and tax compliance team with regulations
- Manage external and shareholding financing agreements for investments
- Assist with other special projects as assigned
Experience & skills
- Finance professional qualification (ACA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Minimum 7 years post-qualification experience
- Knowledge of oil and gas sector including petroleum fiscal regimes and economic analysis
- Expertise in IFRS and US GAAP
- Experience in management reporting and budgeting processes
- Experience in a reputed oil and gas company or Big 4 audit firm (oil and gas division preferred)
- Experience in financial modelling (preferred)
- Working knowledge of Oracle, SAP, Hyperion, Jedox, or similar financial systems
- Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of Think-Cell (advantageous)
