Job description

The Senior Data Engineer at Salla is responsible for owning, building, and scaling the data infrastructure powering the e-commerce ecosystem. This role involves end-to-end management of data pipelines, from ingestion (Data Lakes, Production Databases, APIs) to transformation using dbt and ClickHouse, and consumption through Reverse ETL and secure APIs. The engineer implements Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold), maintains high-performance data models, and ensures CI/CD excellence. Responsibilities include building automated data quality monitoring, orchestrating infrastructure with Mage.ai, managing real-time data ingestion (Kafka, CDC), exposing secure data APIs, and collaborating with application engineers, data modelers, and analysts to optimize infrastructure for large-scale, high-volume datasets, including real-time event tracking and product analytics. The role prioritizes architectural integrity, engineering-grade standards, and data-driven decision-making support for the e-commerce platform.
