Job description
ICMA Green Bond Principles, LMA Sustainability Linked Loan principles, ISSB, EU CSRD and the EU Taxonomy frame much of the work in Emirates NBD's sustainable finance offering for Wholesale Banking. This Head of Sustainable Finance supports origination, structuring and execution across Corporate Banking, Investment Banking and Financial Institutions, helping clients fund their energy transition and decarbonisation plans. Transactions range from green loans and sustainability linked loans (SLLs) to green bonds, sustainability bonds and transition finance instruments. On the commercial side, you shape the go-to-market approach and keep a 'Hunt' plan current for sustainable and transition finance. Clients look for advice on transition pathways, financing frameworks, ESG disclosure, impact reporting and sustainability KPI selection. Relationship Managers treat you as their first call on ESG questions, and product teams work with you on new structures across project finance, structured finance, debt capital markets and trade finance. ESG due diligence and alignment with the bank's frameworks and committees run alongside every deal. Candidates need 8 to 12 years in sustainable or transition finance within a universal bank, with hands-on experience structuring green bonds or SLLs for large corporate or institutional clients. GCC market knowledge and a track record of building sustainable finance strategies for 15+ clients are preferred, and a flexible work policy is in place.
