Job description
The WHS Manager β UAE Fulfillment Center is responsible for partnering with site operations teams to execute workplace health and safety policies and ensure compliance with all applicable local and regional regulations. The role focuses on driving continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Kaizen methodologies to reduce operational and ergonomic risks, ensuring a safe and healthful work environment for associates. The WHS Manager provides leadership, conducts comprehensive risk assessments, analyzes WHS data, and supports operational teams in implementing safety standards effectively across the site.

Key responsibilities
- Partner with site operations teams to implement and enforce WHS policies and regulatory requirements.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risks using Lean and Kaizen methodologies.
- Conduct risk assessments and analyze WHS data to identify trends and mitigation strategies.
- Train and coach Operations Leaders and WHS team members on WHS policies and best practices.
- Provide hands-on field support and training to site stakeholders and WHS points of contact.
- Develop and execute leadership development plans for WHS team members.
- Communicate clear expectations and provide performance feedback to WHS associates.
- Identify best practices and incorporate them into standardized safety methodologies.
- Support regulatory inspections, audits, and compliance reporting.
- Develop and implement department goals and safety strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorβs degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Ergonomics, or related discipline.
- Minimum 3β5+ years of progressive experience in WHS/EHS within manufacturing, production, service operations, or distribution environments.
- Experience implementing Lean principles and process improvement in operational settings.
- Experience leading direct reports and/or managing multiple sites.
- Knowledge of OSHA and relevant health and safety regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in data-driven decision making.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel (pivot tables, charts, and reporting).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced, evolving environments.
- Certified EHS/HSE/WHS Professional and Masterβs degree preferred.
- Experience in large distribution centers (250+ employees) preferred.
