Job description
The Specialist - Cloud Operations at AIQ will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing daily cloud operations across multi-cloud environments including Azure, AWS, and G42 Cloud. The role involves managing cloud billing, driving cost optimization strategies such as rightsizing and reserved instances, and maintaining operational health of workloads. The specialist will coordinate with support teams and vendors to resolve issues, align cloud operations with IT, finance, security, and compliance departments, and lead governance and risk management initiatives. The position also includes extensive customer-facing responsibilities—translating business needs into cloud solutions, conducting usage reviews, and enabling onboarding for new teams. Candidates must have 8+ years of experience, including 4+ years in cloud operations and 4+ years in client-facing roles. Strong communication, stakeholder management, and proficiency in cloud billing and cost tools are essential. Certifications in Azure, AWS, or equivalent platforms, and familiarity with ITIL frameworks are preferred.

Key responsibilities
- Oversee daily cloud operations including monitoring, provisioning, and performance tracking
- Manage and track cloud billing across business units ensuring accuracy and transparency
- Drive cost optimization initiatives such as rightsizing, reserved instances, and automation
- Maintain operational health of cloud workloads and coordinate with vendors and support teams
- Collaborate with IT, Finance, Security, and Compliance teams to align cloud strategy with organizational goals
- Act as liaison between cloud vendors and internal teams for escalation and SLA management
- Support cloud governance through policy implementation, audit preparation, and risk mitigation
- Engage with business units to translate requirements into cloud service solutions
- Conduct stakeholder cloud usage reviews and deliver improvement recommendations
- Support onboarding and enablement of teams adopting cloud technologies
Experience & skills
- Minimum 8 years of experience, including 4+ years in cloud operations or platform support
- At least 4 years of experience in client-facing roles
- Proficiency with Azure, AWS, or G42 Cloud
- Strong knowledge of cloud billing, subscriptions, licensing, and tagging policies
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder interactions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, especially in customer contexts
- Cloud certifications such as Azure Fundamentals or AWS Cloud Practitioner preferred
- Familiarity with cost management tools like Azure Cost Management, AWS Cost Explorer, or CloudHealth
- Understanding of ITIL or similar frameworks is preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
