Job description
The HVAC Sales Engineer role within Al-Futtaim Engineering & Technologies (OMASCO) is responsible for generating sales enquiries, quoting, and booking sales for Ducted, Package, and VRF air conditioning products in the Oman market. The position focuses on achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets, gross margin targets, and order booking targets by generating enquiries, conducting technical estimation, performing design reviews, and preparing technical sales offers for customers. The role involves maintaining strong relationships with consultants, developers, contractors, dealer networks, and MEP contractors while actively seeking new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and marketing strategies. The Sales Engineer conducts market research, competitor analysis, and customer needs assessment to identify opportunities and maintain competitive positioning. The position requires maintaining comprehensive technical knowledge of HVAC systems including ducted units, package units, VRF products, unitary systems, and chilled water systems, along with software selection for VRF products. The role includes managing credit approval processes, debtor collection, maintaining ISO-compliant sales records, preparing management reports, tracking competitor data, and maintaining product knowledge. The Sales Engineer collaborates with project teams, supports business growth initiatives, represents the company professionally, and ensures customer satisfaction throughout pre-sales and post-sales activities while maintaining adherence to company policies, sales channels, pricing strategies, and operational procedures.

Key responsibilities
- Generate sales enquiries and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales, gross margin, and order booking targets
- Conduct design reviews and technical estimation for generated enquiries including ducted, package, and VRF systems
- Prepare technical sales proposals, quotations, and negotiate with customers to secure order bookings
- Generate new customers and maintain relationships with consultants, developers, contractors, dealer networks, and MEP contractors
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify sales opportunities and customer requirements
- Follow up on leads, opportunities, and key accounts to convert enquiries into orders
- Manage credit approval processes and coordinate debtor collection activities according to company policies
- Provide customer support during pre-sales and after-sales activities to ensure satisfaction and feedback collection
- Maintain competitor technical data, pricing information, market share, and stock availability data
- Maintain comprehensive technical knowledge of ducted units, package units, VRF products, unitary systems, and chilled water systems
- Prepare monthly management reports covering sales activities and performance metrics
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards and maintain sales and project documentation
- Coordinate with project departments and internal stakeholders to support business growth
- Represent the company professionally at customer meetings and networking events
- Provide marketing collateral including brochures and fact sheets to customers
Experience & skills
- Hold Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Demonstrate 5 to 10 years of HVAC sales experience in ducted units, package units, and VRF systems
- Possess knowledge of HVAC design, estimation, and chilled water systems
- Demonstrate experience in software selection of VRF products
- Maintain business contacts with consultants, developers, contractors, and dealer networks
- Demonstrate proficiency in MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Hold valid Oman driving license
- Demonstrate experience in sales reporting, technical proposals, and negotiation
- Maintain knowledge of competitor technical data and market intelligence
- Demonstrate experience maintaining ISO-compliant documentation and sales records
