Job description
Four Seasons Kuwait holds the distinction of being the first and only hotel in the country to receive a Forbes Five-Star rating, and this Director of Purchasing role keeps that standard supplied from behind the scenes. You lead Purchasing, Receiving, and Storeroom operations, making sure every hotel department has the supplies and resources needed to deliver exceptional service. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you drive procurement strategy, vendor relationships, inventory management, cost control, capital planning, and compliance across the property. Sustainable procurement strategies also fall to you, developed and implemented in line with the hotel's Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) objectives, brand standards, and corporate sustainability commitments. Negotiation and vendor management take up a real share of the role, alongside cost control work carried out within a hospitality environment that moves quickly. Teams need developing, stakeholders need influencing, and cross-functional relationships need building, since this position touches nearly every department in the hotel. Fluency in English and Arabic helps here, and familiarity with the GCC and Kuwait markets, including local suppliers and sourcing practices, gives a real edge. Procurement systems such as BirchStreet and Microsoft D365 run alongside Microsoft Office applications as the daily tools of the trade. Operational excellence across the hotel depends on how well this role keeps supplies moving without disruption.
