The Senior Advance Process and Control Delivery Manager role based in Jebel Ali, Dubai within the Digital Technology category at Baker Hughes, part of the Industry Energy Technology (IET) business, operates across 120 countries serving the entire energy value-chain and industrial sector. The IET portfolio includes rotating equipment, process flow, transmission technology, and lifecycle services, and the mechanical Engineering Team designs gas turbines, steam turbines, compressors, and expanders using cutting-edge technology. The position is responsible for supporting sales teams in identifying, quantifying, and presenting complex process optimization opportunities to customers and developing technical proposals for process optimization in LNG, fertilizers, gas processing, refining, and olefins industries. The role leads delivery teams during implementation to ensure the technical success of Advanced Process Control (APC) and/or optimization solutions, serves as a subject matter expert advising product teams on industry use cases, ideation, and feature implementation, and works with product managers, data scientists, and customers to drive adoption of AI / ML-based process optimization applications. The manager stays informed of industry technology and innovation, disseminates new technology information to engineering and services teams, provides coaching, technical mentoring, and development of subject matter experts globally, and promotes a safe working environment while driving compliance, quality, and EHS culture in the organization. The position requires a bachelorās degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or equivalent, a minimum of 10 years of experience implementing Advanced Process Control (APC) and/or optimization solutions, experience with data driven/ML based optimization models, proven leadership of technical implementation of APC and/or optimization projects on complex industrial processes, experience working with people in an operating plant or other operational setting, and extensive engagement with senior executive stakeholders. Good-to-have qualifications include expert-level knowledge of APC and optimization technologies and methodologies, knowledge of plant data-driven process modelling/analytics and its limitations, and experience with varied and complex industrial processes such as LNG, cryogenic processes, syngas, fertilizer industries, gas processing, refining, and olefins. Key responsibilities
- Support and collaborate with sales teams to identify, quantify, and present complex process optimization opportunities to customers across LNG, fertilizers, gas processing, refining, and olefins industries, prepare detailed technical proposals for Advanced Process Control (APC) and AI / ML-based process optimization applications, and articulate value propositions aligned with customer operational and investment objectives.
- Lead and manage delivery teams during the full lifecycle implementation of Advanced Process Control (APC) and/or optimization projects, ensure technical success of solutions on complex industrial processes, oversee deployment in operating plant environments, coordinate cross-functional resources including product managers and data scientists, and ensure alignment with customer scope, timelines, and performance targets.
- Serve as a subject matter expert by advising product teams on industry use cases, ideation, and feature implementation for process optimization and machine learning applications, provide technical input on plant data-driven process modelling and process analytics, and ensure that solutions reflect practical limitations and realities of industrial operations including LNG, cryogenic processes, syngas, fertilizer industries, gas processing, refining, and olefins.
- Drive adoption of data driven and ML based optimization models by working directly with customers, operating plant personnel, and senior executive stakeholders, influence senior-level management investment decisions through strong business acumen, and ensure measurable performance improvements in industrial process optimization initiatives.
- Stay informed of industry technology and innovation in Advanced Process Control (APC), optimization technologies and methodologies, disseminate new technology information to Baker Hughes engineering and services teams, and integrate emerging best practices into delivery strategies.
- Provide coaching, technical mentoring, and development of subject matter experts globally, foster collaboration across regions, promote a safe working environment, and drive compliance, quality, and EHS culture across all process optimization delivery and operational activities.
Experience & skills
- Hold a bachelorās degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or equivalent and possess a minimum of 10 years of experience implementing Advanced Process Control (APC) and/or optimization solutions, including leadership of technical implementation on complex industrial processes within energy technology and industrial sectors.
- Demonstrate extensive hands-on experience with data driven optimization models, AI / ML-based process optimization applications, machine learning techniques, plant data-driven process modelling, and process analytics, including knowledge of modelling limitations and practical deployment constraints in operating plant environments.
- Show proven ability to successfully lead cross-functional delivery teams, manage stakeholder expectations, engage extensively with senior executive stakeholders, influence senior-level management investment decisions, and communicate effectively with customers in LNG, cryogenic processes, syngas, fertilizer industries, gas processing, refining, and olefins sectors.
- Exhibit expert-level knowledge of APC and optimization technologies and methodologies, experience in technical proposal development for industrial process optimization opportunities, and the capability to support sales teams in quantifying, scoping, and presenting high-value optimization projects.
- Demonstrate experience working directly with personnel in operating plants or other operational settings, ensuring alignment between digital optimization strategies and physical assets such as rotating equipment including gas turbines and steam turbines.
- Promote compliance, quality, and EHS culture within delivery activities, maintain alignment with organizational standards, and provide global coaching and technical mentoring to develop subject matter experts within engineering and services teams.
