Job description
The Head, Treasury Trading at QatarEnergy Trading is responsible for identifying and managing funding, interest rate, and forex exposures while providing treasury advice to internal stakeholders. The role includes managing communications with external counterparties such as banks and internal departments and divisions. The position requires 12-15 years of experience in trading houses with strong exposure to LNG trading, trade financing, and corporate financing. Prior experience in a similar role within the oil and gas (LNG) industry or in banking institutions is advantageous. Candidates must possess advanced knowledge of computerized business environments, including proficiency in MS Office, Treasury middleware, Bloomberg, SAP Treasury Risk Module (TRM), or similar ERP systems. Strong leadership, people management, and coaching skills are essential. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or Business, and/or professional certifications such as Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant, or Cost & Management Accountant.

Key responsibilities
- Identify and manage funding exposures for QatarEnergy Trading
- Manage interest rate exposures to mitigate financial risks
- Oversee forex exposures and develop appropriate hedging strategies
- Provide treasury advisory to internal stakeholders across departments
- Maintain and manage communication with external counterparties such as banks
- Coordinate with internal departments and divisions to align treasury operations
- Utilize systems including Treasury middleware, Bloomberg, and SAP TRM for treasury operations
- Lead and manage the treasury team, fostering leadership and coaching skills
Experience & skills
- At least 12-15 years of experience in trading houses with exposure to LNG trading and trade/corporate financing
- Experience in oil and gas (LNG) industry or banking institutions is an added advantage
- Knowledge and experience with MS Office, Treasury middleware, Bloomberg, SAP TRM or similar ERP systems
- Excellent people management, leadership, and coaching skills
