Job description
The Advanced Field Service Engineer at Honeywell provides on-site technical support, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting for complex machinery, equipment, and systems. The role involves driving continuous improvement initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and acting as an escalation point for service specialists. This position requires strong technical expertise in custody transfer, gas flow metering systems, flame & gas detection systems, and field instrumentation. The engineer will interact directly with customers, ensuring efficient operations, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction. Extensive domestic and international travel is required.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair services at customer locations
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime
- Interact with customers to understand requirements, address inquiries, and provide equipment training
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, reports, and equipment status
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules
- Collaborate with engineering, sales, and customer support teams for comprehensive service delivery
- Provide feedback to engineering and product development for continuous improvement
- Stay updated with latest industry trends and technologies
- Adhere to company safety policies and regulatory guidelines during service activities
- Travel domestically and internationally to perform on-site service and support activities
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field (diploma certifications may be considered)
- Proven experience in field service engineering or related technical role
- Strong technical knowledge of complex machinery, equipment, or systems
- Proficiency in troubleshooting using diagnostic tools and techniques
- Experience with custody transfer, gas flow metering systems, flame and gas detection systems, and field instrumentation
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Flexibility to travel extensively on short notice
- Customer-focused mindset with ability to build strong client relationships
