Job description
Static equipment such as vessels, columns and heat exchangers sits at the heart of this Wood construction post in Abu Dhabi, which calls for a superintendent with a static equipment background. Projects or project subsets above USD 500 million fall under your field oversight, built to design, specification, budget and schedule. On smaller jobs every area runs through you, while larger ones see you leading the mechanical discipline or a defined subset. Cost and schedule are controlled closely, and Commercial processes capture variations as they come up. Installation, commissioning and completion of materials and equipment are directed in step with field crew schedules. Workers get clear safety, quality and environmental responsibilities, site inductions and regular toolbox meetings, inspections and risk assessments. Equipment, subcontractors, consumables and accommodation are arranged to contract specifications, and industrial relations on site are monitored. Design phases benefit from your constructability input. Fifteen years in oil and gas, with at least 5 on capital projects above USD 500M in construction or site management, is required, and operating company experience may substitute. Multi-week travel, strong English and eligibility for a CICPA pass and UAE work visa are essential.
