Job description
Stormwater pump stations in Abu Dhabi only perform when their pumps, piping, valves, electrical equipment and controls are installed and tested properly, and this Parsons position helps make sure they are. Working alongside the Resident Engineer, you supervise MEP works day to day on behalf of the consultant. Installations are checked against approved drawings, specifications and standards. Contractor method statements, ITPs, shop drawings and material submittals come to you for review, with closures followed up. Inspections, testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning all need coordinating, and handover documentation, permits and approvals need support. NCRs and technical queries are managed as they arise, and progress and quality feed into regular reporting. Some pump stations may be upgrades or retrofits, which means keeping operational interfaces intact while work goes on. Instrumentation, controls and SCADA exposure will help, as will familiarity with local authority close-out requirements such as as-builts and O&M manuals. At least 10 years of relevant experience with strong infrastructure exposure is required.
