Job description
As a Software Engineering Manager at Lean Technologies in Riyadh, you will lead a small, high-performing engineering team to design, develop, and maintain features on the Lean open banking platform. The role involves overseeing agile software development processes, ensuring security and regulatory compliance (e.g., SAMA, CB UAE), and collaborating with product teams and other software development units. The candidate will be responsible for implementing internal communication strategies, driving operational excellence, and mentoring engineers. Lean operates in the MENA region as a regulated open finance platform and has received substantial funding to scale its operations and innovation. The Engineering Manager will contribute to secure development, influence technical strategy, and align engineering efforts with the companyâs mission of enabling seamless A2A payments and data connectivity for fintech companies across the region.

- Lead a small, high-performing team of engineers.
- Implement and control agile software development practices and efficient workflows.
- Establish team metrics for measuring quality and operational excellence with consistent improvement processes.
- Develop and implement internal communication strategies to enhance collaboration across teams.
- Ensure compliance with open banking regulations including SAMA, CB UAE, and other relevant authorities.

Experience & skills
- Proven track record of delivering complex projects across cross-functional teams in agile environments.
- Experience mentoring engineers at various experience levels.
- Ability to influence technical strategy at an organizational level.
- Solid technical background with a clear understanding of microservice architecture and REST APIs.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with external security audits.
